5 Ways to Save Money and Stay Healthy

Majority of us have these 2 concerns, health and money. Everyone want to be healthier and wealthier.
What if we can do both at a same time? Save money and keep fit.

#1: Stop your vices

The vices I'm refering to is the cigarattes and alcohols. Some of you might be a smoker and/or heavy drinker. You could cut a little here and there, if not stop completely. If you are a heavy smoker, 2 packs a day. Reduce them to 1 pack. If you smoke 1 pack daily, then perhaps make the 1 pack to last for 2 days. Same goes for alholic drink. All those calories will only add more to your waistline. Decrease or stop completely. You will save money.

#2: Stop ordering caloried drinks

Whenever you go to the mamak or any restaurant, it have become habits to order drinks with calories. In fact there are many substance in the drinks might not be healty as well. If a drink cost you, RM 2 and you eat or drink out twice a day everyday, you could save,

RM 2 X 2 X 30 = RM120.

This will also help you to lose weight as you are cutting unnecessary calorie intake.

If you are Starbucks person, imagine how much you can cut every month.
Just order plain water, the sky juice, or filtered water.

#3: Take public transport

Yeah, yeah. Many will complain the public transport in Malaysia is bad and so on. When was the last time you took one? Malaysian public transport have improved a lot in the past decade, yet many still haven't try them out. If you plan the journey properly, you could safe all those money by not paying tolls and fuel for your car.

Hopefully the BRT and the KV-MRT would push more people to take public transport.

#4: Park and walk
In Malaysia, unfortunately many of us are super lazy when we need to go to a shop. Many would just park and double park and even triple park. Some would even go round and round looking for a parking nearest to their destination. Why not just park and walk? Again you'll be burning your calories and save on the fuel as well spare yourself from being fined for illegal parking.

#5: Quit your gym
What? Stop going to gym?!? Isn't gym is good for your fitness? Don't come to that conclusion so fast. There are many alternatives to gym. You can still continue your workouts and exercises elsewhere cheaper. In fact, there are some fitness center which actually spoils you by offering free caloried or soft drinks as part of their members. I'm not going to mention which one.

You can do body weight workouts at home or street workout (Calisthenic) at the park. You'll find more six packers doing street workouts compared to gym. Join some of those friendly street workout groups. You can find them at some of the parks which have monkey bar. Just search Calisthenic Malaysia and you'll start to see results.

You can also join some running groups where they do many activities in the evening and weekends. There are plenty of them such as Running Kaki, Lyn Runners and so on.

Of course, everything needs discipline. Where there's a will there's a way!
